Green Danish Technologies to Get a New Visitor Centre and Showroom

Danish businesses take a leading position in the development of green technologies, and the contribution from the Industry Foundation is ensuring Danish solutions within energy, climate and environment a venue where visitors from all over the world can experience the solutions. Denmark’s first interactive visitor centre will open in 2013.

Strengthening The competitive position of Danish businesses
The Danish Industry Foundation has granted 15 million DKK to establish the visitor centre and showroom, which is going to strengthen the competitive position of Danish companies. Last year the foundation supported a pilot project covering the demand and interest for a showroom, which has laid out the foundation for accomplishing the final project.

Promoting the green Denmark
State of Green, a public private partnership, has international promotion of the green solutions and products of Danish businesses as its main task, and with this objective a showroom will be developed in the heart of Copenhagen. Since 2009 State of Green has arranged site visits in Denmark for more than 4000 international decision-makers interested in the lessons learned by leading Danish companies and institutions. With the new visitor centre, inspiring foreign partners and facilitating dialogue will get an even stronger point of departure.

A unique project
The project will be a unique visitor centre and showroom containing meeting facilities and exposition venues where Danish businesses, trade- and industry associations and public institutions can receive foreign commercial and political decision-makers and introduce them to the potential of the technologies, where Denmark has taken the lead.  At the same time it demonstrates that Denmark as a nation has the ambition and the will to lead a green transition. Denmark is the first nation to have laid out a plan ensuring independence of fossils by 2050.

New Project to Optimise Nordic Power Transmissions

Although Denmark is one of the countries in Europe with the most HVDC (high-voltage, direct current) transmissions, methods for optimal coordination and control of these are lacking. A study by Danish Energy Association has shown that a 10 percent increase in the transmissions' output between Denmark and Germany will result in a DKK 113 million increase in income for Denmark and Danish electricity consumers.

The new aspect is the 25,000 sq.m. school building in Copenhagen's Nordhavn quarter, built to house Denmark's largest international school. Today, the building will be officially opened by Princess Benedikte, Minister of Education Merete Riisager and Mayor of the City of Copenhagen Frank Jensen.
