Despite the country’s small size, Denmark has more than 5000 turbines corresponding to 3,800 MW of installed capacity. Currently, 12 offshore wind farms are located off the coast of Denmark and more are scheduled to be installed over the coming years.
As a result of this impressive number, companies from consultants and legal advisors to architects and other organisations have developed key competences in how to manage all the steps necessary to establish an onshore or offshore wind farm.
Together, they cover the entire value chain; from planning and designing the wind farm, including making sure regulations are met, to installing the turbines and connecting them to the power grid to carrying out operations and maintenance.
Securing a stable supply Phasing out fossil fuels and replacing them with renewable energy sources such as wind will require a flexible power grid capable of handling fluctuations in the energy supply on days when the wind is not blowing. Denmar...
