40% of energy consumption in Denmark is used for heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) in our buildings. Insulation and draught-proofing help conserve energy – but to ensure the health and wellbeing of the people living and working in the buildings fresh air, by way of ventilation, is essential.
Ventilation still consumes a certain amount of energy – but the potential for savings is greater. The most energy-efficient form of ventilation is “Active Ventilation”. In this case, the ventilation application is equipped with heat recovery and filters the air to prevent hazardous particles from entering the building.
With heat recovery, 65% to 85% of the costs of heating fresh ventilation air can be recovered.
Danish companies are far advanced in the development of heat recovery components – and even more efficient technologies are on the way.
Thus, using energy more efficiently in both housing and production is an obvious step towards becoming independent of limited energy resources such as fossil fuels. And there is a large potential for doing just that. Saving energy in buildings B...
