A wind turbine has to operate with control and safety systems to comprise the many interconnected components. All these components operate in a comprehensive system to ensure that the wind turbine is operating satisfactory and preventing possible dangerous situations from arising.
The control and safety systems are necessary as wind turbines need to function without human supervision for longer periods of time. Therefore, the control system must function trouble-free, whether the wind turbine is in operating mode or not. The control system is also important to ensure the optimal speed of the turbine.
