It is a little known fact that circulator pumps are among the most energy-consuming household devices. There are currently more than 120 million circulator pumps in the EU with a total energy consumption of 57 TWh. This is twice as much as the energy consumption of all the washing machines in the EU.
For this reason, developing more energy-efficient circulator pumps is an important focus area. Raising the energy efficiency of circulator pumps could save the average European household 10% of its total energy consumption.
New technology pioneered by Danish pump manufacturers, among others, has helped develop circulator pumps that require less energy for start-up and operation.
