As one of the leading technical universities in Europe, the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) holds strong scientific expertise within a wide range of research areas which are of relevance for climate change issues.

DTU conducts research into technologies that can improve the monitoring of the climate change, mitigate the emission of greenhouse gasses and enable society to adapt to the consequences of climate change.

In 2008, DTU launched its Climate Change Technologies Program to provide a firm platform for an accelerated development and deployment of new technologies. An essential part of the program includes ten workshops each addressing climate technology issues for key sectors. Professionals from industry, public authorities and science have identified prospective innovative technology tracks, outlined challenges and recommended solutions. On 17 September 2009, the workshop series will be concluded by an open conference where high level representatives will discuss and recommend fast track avenues for development and implementation of new technologies.
