All Technology Relations for Passive House in Struer
Show all technology relations
A certified one family Passive House in bricks has been built in Struer. The house has a heating bill of only 40 euro per month and proves that it is possible to build a passive house with different architectural expressions.
What is a Passive House?
The limit for energy consumption in a passive house is 15 kWh/m2 per year for heating. A Passive House is a construction form where the energy consumption is minimised as much as possible. Good insulation, efficient ventilation and appliances, triple-gazed windows, airtight constructions and an optimal building orientation enable this. Most of the heating energy comes from free/passive energy sources, such as sun light, body heat and excess heat from (efficient) electrical appliances.

Energy consumption
Geothermal energy ensures room heating and hot water. This geothermal heat pump uses 2,000 kWh per year, but the house only uses one sixth of the heating than a normal house built according to the Danish building code.
Insulation
The house is an extremely well insulated and tight house with low energy windows and doors and a heat pump. The average depth of roof insulation is 650 mm and the new Rockwool HardRock Energy Systemtag with improved insulating power has been used. Walls are insulated with 400 mm Rockwool insulation.
