Building insulation

Building insulation

Product type: Product

Heating and cooling are the main energy consumers in buildings and account for two thirds of a building’s total energy consumption. However, most of this energy is wasted due to inadequate insulation. By using well-proven energy efficiency techniques, 70 to 90 % of a building’s energy need for heating or cooling can be cut.

Rockwool insulation is the obvious choice. Whether you are an outstanding architect creating innovative building solutions or a homeowner who wants a better insulated attic in order to reduce the heating bill.

Technical Specifications

In buildings, insulation can be used for thermal, acoustic and fire insulation in ceilings, walls, floors and roofs. Increasing the energy efficiency in residential buildings involves improvements to the building envelope.

The level of insulation required to satisfy the specification is expressed in terms of U-values for the main structural elements, such as the walls, roof, etc. U-values measure the rate of energy loss through these elements. This rate can be reduced by incorporating more insulation within the application.
