Insulation is a low hanging fruit
How can we save energy, money and CO2 – and improve the quality of life? Energy efficiency in the building stock holds one of the largest potentials.
Better insulation has been identified as one of the most profitable CO2 saving measures – it is a low hanging fruit!
Insulation saves more than 4000 million tonnes of CO2 in its lifetime
The Rockwool Group is the world leader in stone wool insulation that improves the environment and the quality of life for millions of people. Stone wool is used to insulate against loss of heat and cold. By decreasing the need to burn fossil fuels it also reduces air pollution. A typical Rockwool loft insulation product will save more than a hundredfold the energy and CO2 invested in its lifecycle. But for Rockwool technical insulation for industrial processes, that often operate at several hundred degrees Celsius, the positive net carbon footprint is more than 20,000 times on average, This year’s production of Rockwool insulation will, in its lifetime, save more than 4000 million tonnes of CO2.
