Means to Reduce the CO2-emission of Transport

More and more municipalities are in the process of preparing climate plans for reduction of the CO2-emission. A lot of municipalities experience that transport on one hand is pointed out as the big sinner and on the other hand very difficult to do anything about.
 

A useful tool for creating an overview of the possibilities of reducing transport contribution to the CO2-emission is to prepare a catalogue of means; customized for the individual municipality and comprising a wide range of well-known as well as innovative means within transport.
 

Ramboll prepares catalogues of means and action plans for transport in both large and small municipalities, based on a systematic quantitative and qualitative description of best practice and domestic and international experience with means to reduce the CO2-emission from transport.
 

On this background a list of possible means is prepared that is convertible into measures for the municipalities on how to reduce the CO2-emission.

The local initiatives are gathered in an action plan that comprises means to increase the use of public transport and cycle as means of transport as well as measures to reduce the number of cars and ensuring a better and more efficient employment of the cars in use, and finally means to influence the transport behaviour.
