Biogas, which is produced by waste products from the modern and intensive farming industry in particular manure and other organic waste, is of special interest to society for environmental reasons.
The treatment of manure in a biogas plant solves several environmental problems of the industrialized farming industry, and the biogas can for instance be used directly in small-scale CHP plants. Besides, the emission of methane gasses from the farming industry will be reduced.
Ramboll has been involved with a number of biogas projects, including the planning of the world’s largest biogas plant in Maabjerg, Holstebro and a new innovative plant in Nakskov for the farming industry as well as biogas plants for large waste water treatment plants.
As we have implemented complex projects for the utilisation of biogas, we have the advantage that our departments for energy production, district heating and environmental work cover all relevant aspects.
