PhotoSolar is a company which offers an innovative solution which integrates solar shading into transparent glazed panes for building facades and transforms the shielded solar energy into electicity (photo voltaic). The solution with integrated solar shading is being introduced to the market under the MicroShade(TM) brand via cooperation partners within the glazing industry as well as via direct specification sales.
This solution is as effective as the best existing alternative, but has a number of advantages including good visibility, robustness and no maintenance - at a competitive price. The version with photo voltaic capabilities is under development and will be capable of producing app. 50 kWh/m2 per year at at an investment cost close to that of conventional exterior solar shading.
