Energy Retrofitting of Existing Buildings

The largest CO2 reduction potential lies within existing buildings. NCC has many years experience as contractor that performs energy retrofitting and newly NCC is a certified energy consultant company and performs energy labelling of buildings.

Labelling is carried out by an energy consultant, who investigates the quality of insulation, windows and doors, heating installations etc. The energy label gives an overview of which energy-related improvements will be cost-effective to implement.

A typical renovation includes: Roof, facade and floor insulation; High efficiency windows (glazing and frames); Improvement of heating system and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery.

NCC participated in the biggest energy renovation project in Denmark, 2,000 appartments in Vejleåparken, where energy consumption for heating was reduced from 180 to 100 kwh/m2.
