ETNA-tank is an advanced Inventory Management System that on-line monitors the level and consumption of bulk materials in silos or tanks. With these on-line data available, production and distribution can be optimized dramatically with the result that energy and money are saved.
 

The solution
The ETNA-tank solution consists of 3 main components: Sensor, wireless GSM/GPRS unit and the ETNA-tank server. Leax A/S has developed its own specialized sensor based on a strain gauge that is welded on an appropriate location at the construction of the silo. The communication unit is based on GSM/GPRS and is chosen because it is wireless, secure, reliable and a cost optimized solution. ETNA-tank server performs the advanced data processing and delivers the data to a database. Data can be represented either by a custom specific business system or by using the Leax developed Web application. The ETNA-web gives the user overview; pre-warning of dry running, average consumption etc.

Production can be optimized because the manufacturer knows the actual consumption at the end customers. Distribution energy and cost can be reduced because ‘peak-periods’ can be avoided and delivery can be done just before the silos are empty.
