Kolding Municipality

The Municipality of Kolding in Denmark has app. 90.000 inhabitants. In 2008 the Municipality of Kolding was nominated as one of three ecocities in Denmark. Key drivers where a historic approach to energy savings and strong commitment to environmental and carbon reduction targets in the future. With the nomination we have commited us to spreading our knowledge on climate matters nationally to Municipalities and other stakeholders.

We have a strategic energy plan running until 2021, in which we have planned for CO2 mitigation in 5 areas: transport, citizens, the Municipality as an organisation, business and construction.
