ForskVE is a research programme under Energinet.dk supporting the spread of PV cells, wave power and biogasification.
ForskVE is a new scheme, introduced with the 2008 energy agreement, aimed at spreading small sustainable energy technologies. The legislation limits activities to PV cells, wave power and biogasification.
The object of ForskVE is to grant funding to individual projects able to persuade other manufacturers and investors to focus on these sustainable technologies. Technologies developed with funding from other programmes can use ForskVE funding to go the last mile towards concrete commercial takeover of the technology. Grid connection and direct electricity generation are absolute requirements for ForskVE projects.
In the case of all three technologies, funding is also given to communication activities that can use the constructive experience gained from funded projects to help spread the technologies. So far, the ForskVE programme is scheduled for four years, 2008 - 2011, with an annual funding framework of DKK 25m.
