FleksEnergi

FleksEnergi is an energy network organization situated in the North of Jutland, and is the voice of 130 members.

FleksEnergi aims to create conditions for the development and realization of future collective heat solutions, thereby sustaining and creating growth in the region’s energy sector. The project objective is to help facilitate solutions that will be able to phase out fossil fuels in district heating system as well as the development of special skills that exist in the region. The project cooperates with Aalborg University, Aalborg, North Jutland, the region's power plants and companies in the energy industry.

FleksEnergi operates on the basis of three project aims:

1) The establishment of five design projects anchored in five municipalities in North Jutland.  Each design project is allocated resources to investigate the best community-based alternatives to the energy sources that are used today. The goal here is to discover ways of phasing out of fossil fuels. 

2) A focused research effort that includes testing of design projects, and the creation of a relevant PhD position at Aalborg University. 

3) Finally, a network group comprised of organizations based in North Jutland. This network will help to strengthen cooperation in order to optimize business competitiveness and export opportunities, as well as be able to create growth, thereby generating new jobs in the region.
