The Energy Metropolis Esbjerg is the brand of a common vision and goal for the Municipality of Esbjerg.

Our Vision

In 2015 the Municipality of Esbjerg is Denmark's Energy Metropolis for energy technology based on a strong business cluster and a strong education and research environment.

Unique Position

Under the joint name, EnergyMetropolis – The Municipality of Esbjerg, the municipality intends to expand the unique position within energy and energy technology in close cooperation with Esbjerg Business Development Centre. The expansion drive will take place both internationally aimed at potential customers in the energy sector and also nationally aimed at the industry and decision-makers. The marketing process will be made in cooperation with the city’s businesses, knowledge institutions and universities.

Our growth strategy is sharply focused on two main areas, where we have strong competences, and where the market is huge: One area is offshore energy; oil, gas and wind energy and in time also wave energy. The second is bioenergy systems.
