Increasing biogas production by removing ammonia from biogas reactors

Funded projects: EUDP

The projects aims at verifying the hypothesis that biogas output can be increased by 20% in thermophilic reactors by minimising ammonia inhibition, which is considered a serious challenge to optimising the energy content of farmyard manure and slurry. Effectively removing ammonia, a membrane technology will be developed and tested in a 10 cubic metre biogas reactor.
