Diesel engines running on second-generation bioethanol

Funded projects: EUDP

The project will demonstrate second-generation bioethanol used as diesel engine fuel by converting ethanol into diethyl ether, an excellent fuel for diesel engines. Ethanol used in diesel engines increases the efficiency ratio by up to 40% as measured against a petrol engine, and by 5-10% in total.
