Maturing value-creating technologies.
The object of the Danish National Advanced Technology Foundation is to support risky and capital intensive research and development which would otherwise not be possible without the active participation of the foundation. Focus, therefore, is on potentially value-creating technologies which have not yet been sufficiently matured for commercial markets.
The tools of the foundation are twofold:
- Advanced technology platforms
- involving research with a view to radical innovation. The platforms usually involve businesses as well as research institutions and serve as stepping stones for future commercial activities.
- Advanced technology projects
- closer to the market than the platforms. Typical focus is on developing next-generation technology or applying innovative combinations of existing technologies.
