Optimization of energy in agriculture

Energy consultancy service from EnergiMidt saves many farms for great energy expenses. A close examination of the farms and concrete suggestions for energy conservation measures are the benefits the farmers derive from the cooperation.
One of the farmers who has benefited from a visit from an energy consultant from EnergiMidt is pig breeder Jimmi Rasmussen from Ulstrup in Denmark. His pig farms have been examined and energy savings worth more than 135.000 DKK have been pointed out.

Energy consultant Kurt Mortensen from EnergiMidt went over Jimmi Rasmussen’s farms and found potential energy conservations in several areas. The energy report points out 6 proposals that altogether will decrease energy expenses by
135.000 DDK per year. The 6 proposals are of various dimensions – some are easily implemented and yield an instant saving, while others demand an investment.
1. Renovation of ventilating system in one of the stables
2. Isolation of heating pipes
3. Trimming of humidity control
4. Daylight control of light fittings
5. Replacement of milling
6. Establishment of heating lamp control in farrow stable

The energy report includes conservation potential, investment and pay back time.
