E.ON and the Municipality of Mora Cooperate for a Sustainable City

In the municipality of Mora, there has long been a vision of making Mora into a more sustainable community and a better place to live. E.ON, in turn, already operates an extensive operation in Mora in the form of both district heating as well as an energy partnership with Siljan Timber.

E.ON is facing major investments in its operations in Mora and sees additional opportunities within the energy and environmental sectors for cooperation with the municipality of Mora and Siljan Timber.

A joint responsibility
The Sustainable City in Mora work began in spring 2008 when representatives from the municipality, Siljan Timber and E.ON together agreed on a cooperative plan for sustainable development in Mora. A joint workshop was held, during which ideas regarding content and how things would work were discussed.
Subsequent work has involved enlisting participation among citizens, local businesses, schools and others. The result was a preliminary study which forms the basis for continued efforts.
