Bioethanol from hveiti is produced on winter wheat and has a 70 % CO2 reduction capacity compared to regular gasoline.
The large amount of starch found in winter wheat makes it very well suited for the production of bioethanol. This is because it is the starch which is used for the production of bioethanol.
hveiti will on a yearly basis produce 200 mill. liters of bioethanol, which will be sold on the global market. Through the Danish law on sustainable biofuels, which came into force in July 2010, all gasoline in Denmark contains a 5 % bioethanol blend.
hveiti’s yearly production capacity of 200 mill. liters could cover Denmark’s entire consumption, and at the same time reduce Denmark's import of gasoline by 10 %.
