The Uribia desalination plant in the Guajira province of North-East Colombia has a capacity of producing 2,000 cubic meters water per day and is able to supply 15,000 Wayúu people with water. The desalination plant separates the salt from the water through several filtering stages, so that the outgoing concentration is below 300ppm (parts per million) and suitable for consumption.
Two varible speed drives from Danfoss (30kW and 45kW) are saving 45% in energy.
