Daka Biodiesel is owned by Daka a.m.b.a, who is a cooperative involved in the handling of animal byproduct in Denmark and Sweden.
Daka Biodiesel produces biodiesel from animal fat and used cooking oil. The production plant is situated in Løsning in Jutland and have a capacity of 50.000 t/y. The main process equipment is supplied by BDI International, Austria. The plant was put into operation ealy 2008.
The product apply to EN 14214 - the European norm for biodiesel - and is mainly sold to the mineral oil companies in Europe, who use the biodiesel to blend into fossil diesel. Typical as a B5 blend.
Daka Biodiesel and Daka a.m.b.a. are involved in several research projects focusing at the utilisation of waste and by-products as raw materials for production of bioenergy.
