With over 37,000 students and more than 7,000 employees, the University of Copenhagen is the largest institution of research and education in Denmark. The purpose of the University is to ’conduct research and provide further education to the highest academic level’.
Research is of high quality, and the strength of the university makes it realistic to establish internationally competitive focus areas and to expand its net of partner institutions.
In addition, the academic diversity and experiences with regional and international cooperation form a basis for the creation of new and necessary multi-disciplinary areas within research and education.

The next UN Climate Conference (COP15) will take place in December 2009 in Copenhagen. The University of Copenhagen will launch a series of climate activities in the run-up to the UN Conference.
