The Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies (CIFS) is a not-for profit independent think tank that was founded in 1970 by Professor Thorkil Kristensen, former Minister of Finance and Secretary-General of the OECD. The mission of CIFS for the last 40 years has been to analyze the business environment in order to qualify the basis for decision making. CIFS has extensive experience in advising top management on issues of strategic concern in various industries including retail, financial services, manufacturing, energy, as well as the public sector.
CIFS work with the strategic issues concerning the water-energy-food-climate nexus, focusing on trends affecting the need for green innovation, strategy impact and consumer responds. CIFS is part of a number of global networks a regularly do key note speeches and participate in roundtables around the world.
CIFS was invited by the Korean Foundation to join the green workgroup in order to provide policy recommendations for the 2012 G20 meeting.
