Solution type: Implemented

Insight through overview

Region Midtjylland has in 2008 in cooperation with 13 of the regions 19 Municipalities made an energy account of the year 2007.

Energy accounts are intended as a tool for the preparation of plans of action regarding the energy sector in each municipality. Such action may include a variety of approaches - from a campaign for energy saving efforts, projects for the installation of wind turbines or replacing fossil fuels with renewable energy. It is expected that the energy accounts is to be updated in 2010/11 so that the municipalities and the region will be able to see the effect of the different approaches.

Result for the current energy account
The accounts show the total energy consumption for 2007, an energy balance and a breakdown of fuel types. There are calculations of total CO2 emissions and CO2 emissions per. capita in the municipality. Furthermore, the calculated share of renewable energy in relation to the total energy consumption.
