The global attention on Copenhagen as a bike city helps to brand it as a modern and environmentally friendly city and we provide city space for the testing, demonstration and promotion by private enterprises wishing to become part of the story of one of the world’s best bike cities.

We provide the city space and the brand
A number of small enterprises in the carrier bikes, ITS solutions, designer bikes and consultancies are already benefitting from the well developed domestic market in Copenhagen. And the business potential is still very large. The City of Copenhagen offers partnerships within specific projects in the biking area; such as sponsorships of solutions, research and development. A good example is our collaboration with MIT on the development of the intelligent Copenhagen Wheel.

Partnerships can be achieved within all areas contributing to increasing the number of bikes in Copenhagen’s streets:
• New technology contributing to increasing the use of bikes:
• Lifestyle/IT solutions targeted towards the modern consumer:
• Initiatives to improve passability: new methods of planning, e.g. development of traffic
• Health initiatives: general promotion of biking through campaigns or construction projects
