Waste Gas Cleaning

Product type: Product

During the incineration the pollution in the waste is passed on to gas and the slag left after the incineration is completed. The flue gas is cleansed in several stages before being released through the chimney. The residue product is shipped to Norway where it is used to neutralise acids. Amagerforbrænding was the first plant to start cleaning the smoke from dioxin in 1997.

Technical Specifications

The gas is mixed with water, limestone and active charcoal. The limestone is a specific type called sorbacal which has a porous surface. Thus, it can absorb more pollution in a smaller amount of limestone to the benefit of the environment.
