Based on 25 years of experience with traditional steam boilers, we have adapted our knowledge and combined it with the innovative technology of solar power plants. As a result of that, Aalborg CSP has developed "CSP tower - module system", a scalable turnkey CSP sun to steam system, in the range of 250 kWe - 10 MWe.
The height of the tower and the size of the solar field are customised according to need of output, geographical location and land available. The output from the CSP tower is steam. The steam can be used directly or in a variety of applications.
The CSP tower can be a stand-alone energy solution or be integrated in an existing facility.
The CSP tower - module system offers a power producing alternative, which benefits from operation without fossil fuels. This means that it is independent of increasing oil prices, which makes it a feasible power source. It also means, that the energy is produced in a clean, safe and unhazardous way.

Technical Specifications
The CSP tower is a turnkey solar tower receiver system with heliostats for steam producing equipment, suitable for use in climates ranging from desert to tropical.
A CSP tower is between 20 metres and 60 metres high, built up in modules, with adjustable numbers of heliostats. The heliostats are individual units aiming the sun beams at the receivers on the top of the tower. In short, the tower consists of 3 types of modules:
- Base module, containing lockable control room for staff, pumps, deaerator, water softener, and electrical control.
- Top module, containing solar receiver, boiler, ladders, walkway, cableways and pipes.
- Centre modules, containing ladders, cableways and pipes.
Due to the unique control system, the heliostats can be installed anywhere regardless of inclination of the ground, as long the heliostat can 'see' the solar receiver and does not shadow one another.
The CSP tower system can provide energy for a wide range of industrial processes such as process steam, electricity, water purification, desalination, absorption chillers, air condition and mechanical power to e.g. pumps for irrigation. The possibilities can be individually combined to echieve optimum use of the CSP tower energy.
