The Renewable Energy Water Supply for the Mekong Delta Project
Vietnam´s Mekong Delta region is potentially one of the world´s most affected areas of climate change. Adapting to the situation, the Renewable Energy Water Supply for the Mekong Delta Project has been committed with the development objective of increasing the knowledge and use of renewable energy solar and wind powered water supply system for the benefit of the Vietnamese rural people, the environment and the economics of the region. The project´s objective is consistent with Vietnam’s direction in green growth, which was well expressed through the ASEM Green Growth Forum in Hanoi, October 2011.
Danish Ambassador John Nielsen says:
"Denmark and Vietnam have a strong potential for strengthening cooperation within green growth and climate change. Vietnam’s demand for access to higher technology within this area is matched by Danish competencies. Against that background I am pleased to see this new agreement opening up new avenues for cooperation."
