The internal energy consumption visible in Develco Products
A condition for saving is the knowledge of where the actual consumption is.
In the north part of Aarhus at Develco Products address, all the employees have the opportunity to follow the actual energy consumption when they are at work and for the individual departments.
The solution is a combination of a Develco Products system and integration to our partner Sasecos visualization programme eButler. The system is installed in the building on the ground floor, and on the second floor, where the employees are during their working day.
The products included in this system is several of our own products, the ZigBee Ethernet gateway combined with an electricity meter/interface, which reads the meter continuously and sends its data to a server.
The system uses the wireless ZigBee standard and therefore it is possible to extend the system with water and heat management and also to visualize this consumption. This part is not included right now but is partly supported by Develco Products units and Sasecos software.
Using the energy visualization tool eButler it is possible to get an overview of when to use power. It is possible to have data on hourly, daily, monthly basis, total consumption, standby consumption, trends, etc. It is easily done by clicking on the selected and specific time interval you wish to see a consumption of.
It is also possible to get a warning if the consumption or standby consumption is increasing. It can regularly be seen if the company's consumption is increasing or decreasing, as indicated by a thumbs up or down.
With this tool in hand, it is possible to find out when, where and how often the energy is used. The visibility gives the opportunity to locate energy waste. Perhaps we need to replace a refrigerator or an electric kettle etc.
The visibility of the company's energy consumption gives the employees the possibility to be more energy conscious and aware of the consumption and change their attitude towards minimizing the internal energy consumption in the company.
All in Develco Products, from engineers to developers, marketing and sales staff have the opportunity to monitor the consumption and the products in a natural and real environment with results that are realistic and workable with this system.
