25 November 2013

EWEA OFFSHORE 2013 constitutes a unique platform for Danish companies to showcase their solutions and competences to an international audience of commercial and political decision makers. As the world’s largest offshore wind energy conference and exhibition, it represents an international platform for the offshore wind energy industry to source the latest technologies, services and advice from key experts in the sector.

Showcasing the Danish wind power hub

To embrace the opportunity for business and networking in behalf of the Danish companies, State of Green hosted the opening reception of EWEA OFFSHORE at the Danish Pavilion together with the Danish Wind Industry Association.

In addition to hosting the opening reception, visitors passing by the Danish pavilion were able to experience Danish strongholds within offshore wind through a presentation of the upcoming wind farms, a discussion of investment opportunities as well and gaining knowledge about the strong cluster of wind companies located in Denmark.

1450 MW new offshore wind tenders before 2020

Denmark is expanding its energy supply with 1,450 MW offshore wind power towards 2020. As a result, Denmark plans to reach 50% wind in its energy consumption before 2020 and thus the Danish government is calling for the following preliminary tenders:

• September 2014: 400 MW offshore wind turbines at Horns Rev 3 in the North sea
• April 2015: 600 MW offshore wind turbines at Kriegers Flak in the Baltic sea
• September 2015: 450 MW offshore wind turbines in nearshore areas

A number of Danish authorities and industry partners are involved in the process including the Danish Energy Agency, Invest in Denmark, Offshore Wind Denmark, Offshoreenergy.dk, the Danish Wind Industry Association and others. Please contact State of Green for more information.

Paving the way for EWEA OFFSHORE 2015 in Copenhagen

This years EWEA OFFSHORE was also an opportunity, at least from a Danish perspective, to glance ahead towards EWEA OFFSHORE 2015, which will take place from March 10-12, at Bella Center in Copenhagen, Denmark. Copenhagen was chosen as host city not least in light of Denmark’s strong position within offshore wind.
