New Report takes the Temperature on Clean Tech Growth

image

Mega cities the main driver

The Global Cleantech Report 2012 provides a number of interesting conclusions. Europe is, for example, losing its world-leading position to Asia and North America when looking at cleantech market share. Another finding is that mega cities are the main drivers of cleantech growth, primarily due to increasing population figures and challenges arising from climate change - and particular growth perspectives are to be found in the BRIC countries, Turkey and USA.

Time to adjust

Companies interested in pursuing business opportunities in the growing markets better adjust to the changing game: stand-alone solutions are no longer sufficient to enter markets. Systemic solutions incorporating more than one aspect of a value chain is a precondition for future business:

- Danish cleantech companies have a great advantage in terms of technology and know-how. But to stay ahead, it is crucial to initiate new business models, building on greater collaboration. Stand-alone technologies were answers to yesterday's challenges - the future calls for entire cleantech systems, says Mads Lebech, CEO of the Danish Industry Foundation.

A prime reference for microeconomic trends

The report is the first of its kind in that it explores and compares opportunities across regions, at country level and across sectors. As a result, the report is an ideal reference for seeking information about macroeconomic trends as well as specific microeconomic data.

The Global Cleantech Report 2012 is part of the project Complex Cleantech Solutions that is funded by the Danish Industry Foundation. The report was launched by CCC for a number of major Danish cleantech companies on 18th August.
