Green Growth Plan Launched

Earlier this month, the Danish government launched its growth plan for water, bio and environmental solutions. The plan contains 40 specific initiatives aimed at increasing growth in green companies.

Building on a strong foothold

“More than 50,000 Danes work in enterprises that produce water, bio and environmental solutions. It is an area in which we have pronounced strengths. The growth plan will contribute to retaining and generating both development and production jobs in Denmark,” said Minister for Business and Growth Annette Vilhelmsen.

A growth driver

According to the plan, green production already contributes significantly to Danish economy, and green solutions will also contribute significantly to Danish growth in coming years. In 2010, green production created value added of 64 billion corresponding to 9% of the value increment in the private sector.
