Dantherm Power Fuel Cell System Sold in South Africa

Dantherm Power has sold and delivered a 150 kW fuel cell system to Anglo American Platinum Limited in South Africa. The fuel cell system is installed near the COP17 conference in Durban, South Africa.

The system which is fuelled by hydrogen delivers electricity to the local electricity network without emitting any CO2.

“With more than 20.000 participants, the COP17 is a great way of displaying the fuel cell technology’s benefits” says Jesper Themsen, CEO of Dantherm Power.

With support from the Energy Technology Development and Demonstration Programme EUDP the fuel cell system, which is an expansion of a 100 kW system, was developed and showcased in Bella Coola, Canada in 2009 during the CanDan project.
