DONG Energy receives recognised environmental award

This year's ENERGY GLOBE award for Denmark honours DONG Energy's REnescience technology which makes it possible to separate household waste by means of enzymes.

"Sustainable methods for waste sorting are crucial for our future. This year's winner of the ENERGY GLOBE award for Denmark is able to convert waste into resources and energy in an efficient way. It reduces CO2 emissions and opens new opportunities within energy production," said Maneka Gandhi, head of the judging panel.

At DONG Energy, we consider the environmental award as an important recognition that we must be better at utilising the resources of waste.

"The ENERGY GLOBE award helps to focus on how important it is to utilise the resources of our waste and at the same time, it's a recognition that with the REnescience technology, we have a very good product to solve a global challenge," said Henrik Maimann, Vice President in DONG Energy.

Presentation of the award

The presentation of the ENERGY GLOBE award for Denmark takes place today at 16.00 at the ENERGY EUROPE fair at Bella Center in Copenhagen, ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA, stand C4-009.

"The ENERGY GLOBE award creates awareness of our environmental problems and the possible solutions. The REnescience technology is a really good example of a possible solution to one of our environmental problems. Therefore, I'm very pleased to present the award to DONG Energy this year," said Eva Maria Frei.

On 5 June, on the Environment Day of the World, the 161 national winners of the ENERGY GLOBE will be presented in cooperation with UNESCO and UNEP at www.energyglobe.info. The projects will be honoured in cooperation with ENERGY GLOBE’s partners; ia ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA in the respective countries.
