Creating New Growth Models

One main focus of the Forum is the financing of large-scale projects with the private and public sector. By mixing private with public finance for investments in renewable energy and green infrastructure, the risk of investing in large scale projects is reduced. This is an important aspect of launching large scale projects, which require a high level of stability for up to 20-30 years.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will be showcasing their energy efficiency programme where public-private risk sharing is put in practice. It has been used in the development of a PPP financing template that can, in principle, be applied to projects in any country or region. This will be shared with public and private investors, to successfully collaborate and ignite investment in highly lucrative global energy efficiency projects.

Shared goal of Sustainable Growth

There are 17 countries represented at this year’s 3GF. Leading the forum at Ministerial level are Denmark, Mexico, Republic of Korea, China, Kenya and Qatar. Other countries represented include the US, France, Switzerland, Indonesia, Turkey, and Morocco who will be present to actively participate in sharing their experiences, and to learn about new green growth strategies.

Alongside national governments, global corporations and institutions will be represented with CEOs and executives from Philips, Danfoss, Desso, Nestlé, Ericsson, Samsung, Novozymes to name just a few. International financial institutions and organisations will also be present including the China Development Bank, the World Bank, the European Investment bank, the World Economic Forum, and the OECD.
