Creating New Growth Models
One main focus of the Forum is the financing of large-scale projects with the private and public sector. By mixing private with public finance for investments in renewable energy and green infrastructure, the risk of investing in large scale projects is reduced. This is an important aspect of launching large scale projects, which require a high level of stability for up to 20-30 years.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will be showcasing their energy efficiency programme where public-private risk sharing is put in practice. It has been used in the development of a PPP financing template that can, in principle, be applied to projects in any country or region. This will be shared with public and private investors, to successfully collaborate and ignite investment in highly lucrative global energy efficiency projects.
