First-movers on green growth discuss how to keep accelerating green transformation

Gathering participants from governments, NGO’s and businesses the Global Green Growth Forum has created a fruitful platform for discussions on how to accelerate the transformation to a green economy. The Forum demonstrated that by gathering 200 international stakeholders from both private and public sectors it’s possible to narrow down key areas for further development of green growth.

The discussions focused on energy, transport, trade and finance through which concrete possible public private partnerships models were debated and developed.

Above everything else the Forum has showed that a range of ambitious governments and businesses are ready to move the green agenda forward. President & CEO Niels B. Christiansen of Danfoss A/S stated this attitude clearly.

“We will not wait passively for a major climate agreement to be adopted. It is a value-adding factor that those of us who are ready are starting to take action. Therefore, the progressive companies together with the progressive governments should take the lead and be in the front seat.”

Conclusions from this year’s Forum will be brought forward by the partners, Denmark, Mexico and Korea - paving the way for public private partnerships to be the pivotal point for green growth.
