Risoe National Laboratory for Sustainable Energy, DTU

Risø DTU is the National Laboratory for Sustainable Energy and part of the Technical University of Denmark (DTU).

It is Risø’s mission to contribute to research, development and international exploitation of sustainable energy technologies, and strengthen economic development in Denmark.

Risø pursues strategic and targeted development of sustainable energy technologies, drawing on results from fundamental research and maturing technologies to the point where they can be taken over by industry or developed further in partnership with industry.

Risø advises government authorities and international bodies on energy strategies and policies. Need driven innovation and education draw on competences developed in pursuit of strategic research objectives.

Risø has large research facilities and interdisciplinary research environments. 

Yearly reports in Risø Energy Report Series deal with global, regional and national perspectives on current and future energy issues.

Risø is deeply involved in education and training, and both university students and participants in Risø’s commercial courses come from all over the world.
