Majority of Danes Want to Pay for Green Energy

A large majority of the Danish voters would like to pay for replacing coal, oil and gas with renewable energy such as solar, wind and biomass.

The encouraging message comes to Minister for Climate, Energy and Buildings Mr. Martin Lidegaard  while he has been trying to get conservative parties Venstre and Konservative to enter into a broad, multi-year energy agreement.

Three out of five people are "very much" or "somewhat" prepared to pay for the transition to clean energy via electricity and heating bills, which rise gradually, as the government suggests, according to a poll from think tank Concito.
